User, Builder, Accelerator, Master: what is your profile?

Four postures toward data, and the priority for each.

By Adama · October 2026

The Active Digitalization Quadrant, from the DLM method, places an organization according to how it treats its data: as a burden, or as an asset that works for it without extra effort.

The User works with data by hand and gets little value from it. The Builder builds its own tools but never manages to automate: maintenance absorbs the effort and data stays passive. The Accelerator relies on expert platforms and gains productivity, without yet capturing the full value of its data. The Master has turned its data into a business model.

The recommended path runs from User to Accelerator, then to Master, avoiding the Builder trap. The self-assessment will place you in 6 minutes.

Key takeaways
  • One key criterion: data seen as a burden or as an asset
  • The Builder trap: building your own tools without managing to automate
  • The recommended path: User → Accelerator → Master
